What does it look like to worship through the process of growth, love, pain, and healing? The Undoing is Steffany Gretzinger’s whole-hearted response to this question.
I decided that there are some albums that need to be continually shared. They need to be unwrapped, over and over again. Because odds are, something new will arise. This album right here, – it’s one of them.
I don’t know about you, but I like to know the story behind an album. It makes me appreciate the whole package so much more. Sometimes I think I’m weird and nobody else cares about this stuff, but I’m putting it out there anyway. Because I think more people should care.
The Undoing – Steffany Gretzinger
How can hearing her story of how this album came about not make you love it more!!!!! I’m convinced it does.
But really, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found solace in these lyrics. They truly have brought tears to my eyes, and words to language I could not form.
You’ve brought me to the end of myself
This has been the longest road
Just when my hallelujah was tired
You gave me a new song
You remind me
Of things forgotten
You unwind me
Until I’m totally undone
And with Your arms around me
Fear was no match for
Your love Now You’ve won me
This has been a go-to for a lot of season changes in my life. I can remember the first time I listened through this album. I was in Tulsa, OK on my way to a TU football game. It was gloomy and rainy. And hearing the melodies and lyrics to this album accompanied the weather perfectly. I mean look. at. GOD. He’s so good. Giving me the type of weather I wanted and the right music to go with it. Luv Him.
If you don’t know this album, and you’re looking for simple promises to speak over your life, please listen to this. I pray it brings you peace amidst the uncomfortable aspects of this journey called LIFE. I really believe it can usher you into a sweet, intimate place with The Lord, no matter where you find yourself with Him. And of course, if you need an ear, please reach out to me or someone you trust.
Stream it. If you’re not yet convinced.
Own it. Because you’ll want this one.
